About the Home

When asked what she loves about the home, Renee says, “We love that our home was the hub for our daughter and all of her friends. This is where the group always wanted to hang. It was so nice having her/them underfoot rather than having them at someone else’s home and afforded us the ability to truly know her friends – that was one of the very BEST things!”

“Our home is like staying at an amenity-filled resort with multiple entertainment spaces, hideaway spots for privacy and tranquility, a fabulous home theatre experience, etc., all things we’d like to find in our next residence,” she goes on to explain.

The outdoor space holds a special place for Renee as well, “We absolutely love our outdoor patios which give us a wonderful place to recreate in our centrally located urban location while enjoying privacy, nature and tranquil bird songs.”

Renee has many favorite features of her home. She “love(s) that every guest room is truly a ‘private suite’ and offers gracious space for the occupant with ensuite bathrooms and custom built-in walk-in closets.”

“I adore that we can host any and all holiday gatherings! Our gourmet kitchen, indoor-outdoor patio, enormous formal dining room, multiple overflow rooms and giant catering closet make our home a most comfortable venue for a fun crowd of family and friends, ” goes on Renee.

Even more than the gourmet kitchen, Renee exclaims, “having a Home Theatre on the main level of our house has been the best thing we’ve ever done! Our previous home had a home theatre we tucked away because that WAS the expectation YET for some unexplained reason, the previous Home Theatre wasn’t used. We almost didn’t put a Home Theatre into this house because of our previous experience. In the end, we thoughtfully chose to build it as a ‘heart of home’ centerpiece, adjacent to the kitchen. I don’t want to say we’re lazy, but something about the convenience of this room must be part of why it is so frequently used – LOL. I view it as one of the best choices we made when building our house. It is THE perfect gathering spot for family and friends. We use it daily!”

The home hasn’t always looked quite this gorgeous. “This entire house was taken to studs in 2006. We hired an architect whom we had worked with to design and build our previous house and went to town,” explains Renee.

“We’ve meticulously maintained and updated 832 11th Street throughout the years and continue to do so. Our most recent paint contract culminated in March 2020 and we have an 80+ page word document listing every item, model number, grout color, etc., making it easy to identify all of the components that make up 832 11th Street,” goes on Renee. Renee is happy to pass this along to the new buyers of the home.

Finally, Renees states that, “Every ceiling, floor and wall of our home is insulated to provide a solid foundation for quiet and energy conservation. This gives it a very solid feel and provides excellent dampening.”

About the Neighborhood

Another huge perk about the home is its neighborhood.

“We are blessed with a community of sweet neighbors who truly look out for one another and adore the lovely girls at the sorority house 3 lots down! Not only are they respectful neighbors, they were wonderful babysitters when our daughter was younger,” Renee speaks of her neighborhood.

And, Chautauqua is a quick walk from the front door.

About the park, Renee says, “Hiking is for sure a – PLUS, because we view the Chautauqua trails as our very own front yard! Chautauqua has 40 miles of different hiking trails to choose from meaning, we can have a different hike every time, or choose any one of the familiar hikes we have already explored depending on our mood and we don’t require a car to get there!”

“A few of our favorite Chautauqua hikes are Mallory Caves for its diverse terrain and scenery. Green Mountain for a good work out and the Royal Arch for its spectacular scenery. When we want a smaller hike at Chautauqua, we do the loop starting behind the amphitheater and ending at the ranger’s cottage,” she further explains.

Of course, Chautauqua has more to offer than hiking! Renee reminds us that, “The Chautauqua Dining Hall is just steps away for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We like it either before a hike or following a hike – they also have a wonderful happy hour! Also, in the neighborhood is Alpine Modern, a coffee and sandwich place open for breakfast and lunch.”

About the Area

In addition to being steps away from the Chautauqua trail, Dining Hall, and events, the home is near bike paths, the Farmer’s Market, downtown Pearl Street, and CU.

Renee and her family “enjoy walking to the Farmers Market and Pearl Street Mall!” She also likes, “Walking the Boulder bike path and along Boulder Creek, and going east where we can exit the path at multiple intersections to get a bite along 29th Street Mall or exit further down and get a bite on 38th Street & Arapahoe. The new restaurant there is Ska Street Brewery.”

Renee is also, “grateful for the ease and accessibility to the 36 ( the Denver Boulder Turnpike), making airport and downtown Denver departures much more convenient and speedy.”

Pearl Street is a 17 minute walk from the home explains Renee, “We also frequently walk to Pearl Street Mall for meals. It’s a 17-minute journey by foot from our door to Broadway and Pearl with lots of restaurants to choose from, plus, we love not having to deal with the untenable parking situation (of late) that now plagues Pearl Street Mall, (walking can take less time than parking). We also like that with a full stomach, we’ve walked off some calories by the time we return home, so it’s a double win!”

“Some of the favorite Pearl Street Mall restaurants are Oak at Fourteenth, JAX Fish House, SALT, West End Tavern, The Kitchen, Japango, Frasca, Boxcar Coffee Roasters, and Mateo,” Renee states.
