Boulder Home

About the Home

When asked what she loves best about living in the home, Debbie has much to say.

Starting with nature, she will miss the birds and wildlife. “We have recorded sights of over 50 species of birds including Bald Eagles, Osprey, Blue Heron, Western Tanagers, Blue Birds,” she lists.

The smallest birds will be missed the most. She says, “We will mostly miss the hummingbirds, when they arrive, nest, fledge, and leave. The hummingbirds have consumed as much as one gallon of sugar water in a single day.”

Of course, the interior of the home has many favorite features. These include the hardwood art furniture and built-ins, Wolff stove, and indoor work spaces. About the indoor wood, Debbie explains, “We connected with Daniel Strawn, a wood worker and artist, and we designed unique furniture and cabinets to be both beautiful and functional.”

About the yard, Debbie shares, “We wanted it to be a living mural of plants that flower from early spring through late fall, and would also be interesting during the winter. The iris bed has 20 varieties of bearded and mountain iris.”

“The backyard incorporates a walkway through the garden, and a stone bench and table, with panoramic views of Denver, Pikes Peak and the Boulder Flatirons,” she talks about the garden and views. She will miss the many views the home offers: plains, mountains, lake, and forest. She will also miss the garden’s water feature, landscaping, four patio spaces, and mosaic.

Debbie told us how the neighborhood hosts several events including a Fourth of July parade, BBQ, and celebration; an Easter egg hunt; community clean-up day and fish stocking event; and movie nights.

She also says that the, “North Boulder Arts District is just 5 miles away.” Of course, Lyons is a quick trip to the north with Mojo’s Taqueria and Julie’s Thai Kitchen.

And, the Greenbriar Inn is just around the corner.
