When asked about the location of her home, Brenda talks about both nature and the amenities of Boulder.

“We love the location of our home,” she says. “We are four minutes to Broadway and only moments away from great hiking. Our favorite trail is the Annie U White trail which is one of the most beautiful easy hikes in Boulder County. Of course, at the bottom of the hill is the Wonderland Lake Trailhead which offers great scenery and a peaceful walk. In addition to Pearl Street, we have a lot of new restaurants in NOBO where mostly locals frequent. Protos for pizza and Da Gabi Cucina for pasta and tapas are our favorites.”

The home itself also has many perks of nature, as Brenda explains, “We enjoy many great views from inside and outside our home. We watch deer and rabbits regularly, foxes occasionally and enjoy the sound and sight of so many colorful birds. From our outdoor living area we have watched eagles soar and deer climb the hill with their fawns. One night while we were in the pool, a huge owl landed on the fence at the top of the back yard! There is nothing more peaceful than the stillness and quiet of the canyon interrupted only by the whispering wind and sounds of nature.”

Remodeling Fun

“The original house (built in 1978) was very small. We decided to build the pool first and the kids enjoyed watching the builders blast to dig the hole.  We designed the outdoor space to be a true natural sanctuary and our family spent countless hours in that space,” Brenda tells us.

“Remodeling the master bath was great fun! We wanted to give it a real ‘spa feeling’ and I think we nailed it,” she goes on to say.

Memories in the Home

The outdoor spaces of the home are important to the sellers. Brenda shares, “We will miss so many things about this home. On the snowiest of days we turn on the outdoor heaters and watch the snow fall gently with no more that a light jacket or blanket for comfort.  Sitting in the spa while it snows is another favorite.  The commercial heaters in our ‘outdoor room’ make it easy to spend time outside year round. During one snow storm a few years back, the temperature reached 0 degrees, but we dug a path to the fire pit and enjoyed our coffee outside!”

“We will miss having coffee at the fire pit right outside the kitchen door,” seller Brenda tell us.

Brenda will also miss the star shows. She says, “At night there is very little ambient light, so on many summer nights we sit in the pool or hot tub and watch the stars and the moon move gently across the sky. In August you can watch the Perseid Showers. Last year we floated in the pool and counted 45 falling stars in less than an hour. I can’t imagine a better way to spend that evening.”
There are several things about the interior of the home that she’ll miss as well, “My favorite things about our home are the 3 level outdoor living areas, the open flow of the kitchen and dining area, and the media pit with surround sound to watch a great movie or Netflix series.”

The kitchen has access a dine-in nook and access to the dining room.

Brenda will also miss the memories she has made in the space, “We had 75+ people over to watch the Broncos win Super Bowl 50 with friends watching the game from all 3 levels of the home and in our outdoor living area. It was a spectacular evening.”

“We are sad to let the home go but we have reached that time when we should downsize. This home will always live in our hearts and souls, but it is time for the next family to love and appreciate the home as we have.  It’s a great place to spend your life,” she ends.
