Keep reading to learn about the home and Berthoud, Colorado.

Berthoud and Beyond

Goose Hollow Road sits in an ideal location. The country living of green pastures, mountain views, and horses surround the home, yet it has quick access to the comforts of town.

“Our home is just a quick 5 minute drive into the city of Berthoud. We are easily accessible to both Hwy 287 and I-25, which makes getting to just about any destination a breeze,” Anne explains.

Also easy? “…commuting into Boulder; shopping and dining out in Longmont or Loveland; taking an afternoon drive up to Estes Park; heading to the airport; or downtown Denver,” says Anne.

And the cute downtown area of Berthoud has much to offer as well.

Anne shares, “One of our favorite go to places is Joe To Go aka Kofe House Drive-thru. They have some of the best coffee we’ve ever had, and any flavor you can dream of for a milkshake. Their prices can’t be beat, and their staff are the friendliest.”

She shares more, “For the most delicious sourdough bread you will ever taste outside of  San Francisco, we like to go to Rise Bakery. They make a variety of tasty pastries, sandwiches, and salads.”

The local breweries and distillery often have food trucks.  A number of community activities are hosted in these venues such as knitting night, fundraisers, and gardening classes. Throughout the year, there are additional fun events like the farmer’s market, car shows, 5k runs, and outdoor movies in the park.

Outdoor Love

The couple love the accessibility that their home offers in terms of getting out into nature. I asked Anne to share her favorite outdoor spots near the home. Anne says, “For a good walk, we enjoy McIntosh Lake or Golden Ponds (Longmont) or Pella Crossing (Hygiene).  Carter Lake is also close by, as well as many other Open Spaces within a short drive. Rabbit Mountain and Devil’s Backbone offer a bit more hiking challenge.  All are dog friendly. Rocky Mountain National Park is a wonderful destination; wildlife viewing is incredible.” I couldn’t agree more–Golden Ponds and Pella Crossing are two of my running routes.

Perks of the Home Including Outdoor Living

I also asked about the home itself, and Anne mentioned main floor living, the theater room, and barn. “We love that when it is just the two of us, we can enjoy main floor living…this home boasts a lovely main floor master. Sometimes for date night or when the big game is on, we like going down into the theater room to enjoy the big screen. We love the gorgeous barn. It has so much to offer. Three horse stalls, a tack room, office and ½ bath.  Extra storage, and two workshop areas. Large RV, boat, and trailer parking.”

The home is large enough that when the couple have family or other guests, everyone can have their own space. “Our grandkids enjoy challenging their parents to a game of pool; sometimes after we have gone to bed,” explains Anne.

The basement recreation room

The basement recreation room gives family a place to play without being overly concerned with noise.

The couple love the property surrounding the home as well. “We love the expansive landscaped and fenced backyard, with its mature trees,” says Anne.

This home is perfect for hosting a Fourth of July celebration before heading into Berthoud to see fireworks. (This is a new holiday tradition for the town!) Anne has also enjoyed barbecuing on the patio, which has easy access to the kitchen. And the large deck is perfect for outdoor dining. There is also a hot tub and designated area for a flower and vegetable garden.

There is another nice outdoor spot that is perfect “for a quiet cup of coffee and bird watching.” And the bird life surrounding the home is amazing–Anne reports seeing hawks, bald eagles, owls, and plenty of song birds.

And not to mention the pastures. Anne says that, “The design of the pastures make it easy and safe to turn out horses or other livestock.”

With all these features, what will Anne miss most?

“Gathering with our loved ones, and even just the two of us.” The couple has enjoyed spending many sunny days barbecuing, hot-tubbing, and playing games in the yard. They’ll also miss “gather(ing) in the basement to play pool and Foosball, followed by popcorn and a good movie in the theater room.”

And, of course Anne will miss the, “Gorgeous sunsets…from the back porch. The night sky can’t be beat.”
